See I am new to chickens, mine are almost three months old, and I have always had them on pine shavings, even when they were babies... And they ate them and were fine. But just today I bought some straw and so far I like it A LOT better... It doesn't go all over the place like shavings do, and the shavings got moldy REALLY easy... Maybe its the brand?
