Pine pellets: The circle of life

Yes, the pine shavings do get wet and crumble. It SUCKS. But they still burn fine. LOL. Bfrancis is absolutely correct. You learn very fast how much to put at the bottom. Waste not want not.

I have noticed certain brands of pellet are better than others. Kinda weird. However, using the pellets totally outweighs using something else where they track poop all over the place, have a stinky living area, and have poop crusted all over their feet. In my opinion.

IF THEIR IS HARDLY ANY MOISTURE, THEY BECOME MUSHY.

Are you talking about the pellets used in a pellet stove??

To save a literal dollar, I tried a bag of stove pellets...once. They do look a like, and here equine pellets here are $5 a bag, where the stove pellets are $4 a bag. My experience...the stove pellets didn't even need to get wet before they started to turn into a powder. The smell was different too, not fresh like the equine...not stinky mind you, but different.

After that single bag...went back to equine pellets.

I think we all have tried to "save the literal dollar" at different times with different things. this made me smile.
