pine shaving+spruce shaving+fir for buttonquail bedding

Is pine, spruce shaving with fir bedding fine for button quails?

I purchased whole lot at pet store for $10.

I put some in their cage and they seem to "shaving bath" or sth.. they roll around.

Is this okay?

And some of my quails seem to be eating the tiny shavings.. is this normal?
