That's a whole other ballgame from getting chips for chicken runs.
He must have a huge storage space to process chips to soil over 7 years.

A big piece of land with a wood yard for logs to sit and be processed into fire wood or milled into boards. What is not sawn into boards or split for firewood is chipped. After 20 years the wood yard looks like a strip mine on one end. Dig out here, dump there ….

A couple of years ago I got several huge bags of shavings from a cabinet/furniture maker and they worked good.
