I have heard that pine shavings makes a nice bedding for ducks. Is this true? Will it harm my ducks if they eat the shavings?

I use pine and cedar chips all the time. I have a sawmill and I work all my wood up from local trees. All my shavings I get from the planer go to the animals. No harm has ever come to any of them.

cedar oils cause liver or kidney damage to animals kept on them.

My ducks are actually eating them, right down the gullet

I kiln dry all my wood. My cedar has a very low oil and moisture content then when chipped and dried its almost zip. My ducks dont eat it. They prefer the grass to that dry old woodchip. lol But they are on pine and oak alot as well. Whatever im building is what they get chips from. So its not constant on any of them.
