Pineapple timeline

I have a top drying on the counter from this week's pineapple. It's going in the ground this weekend.

I'm surprised it's growing so fast, the weather has been dreary, hurricane warning (Laura), tropical storm warning (Sally), lots of rain from Beta. The only one that really affected us was Beta. Thank goodness we got thru all that unscathed. I wish the people affected by the storms a speedy recovery!

So what is the best way to get them to start? I have heard of this working and tried twice without success.

Youtube has a bunch of videos on the subject. I cut the top off on one from Walmart, I removed the bottom few leaves. Then put it in quality soil and keep it wet. I've seen people starting them in a water solution, until they start rooting. I went straight to dirt. Good luck, post it so we can see!

Wow another month! Time flys, starting to cool down. Growth will probably slow down.

It's doing good after a hurricane named Zeta, 85-90 mph winds. We didn't get any damage but some of our friends and neighbors lost roof shingles.

Frostbitten and wind damage. I'm keeping it wet, and moving it in and out. Letting it get sun light.
