Pinioned Guineas still clear 6' fence?

I have 30 keets coming this week and I planned on pinioning them to keep them in the pasture. I've read some posts that make me think that even pinioned they may visit the neighbors over the 6 foot wooden privacy fence. 20 of the keets are normal guineas, and 10 are Jumbo. What do you think? Will they likely stay in my pasture? (BTW, I have pinioned before, and although it is not my favorite chore, I am capable.)

Thanks!

cant advise on guinnes but i have chicken and they are lighter and more flighty and can clear a 8 foot fence and i have a small backyard so visits are possible

but....

mine dont fly away at all

they like flying on top of coop but they never fly higher then that even though they can as they have done and never even roost on the edge of the fence

once your birds get used to your backyard they wont really want to leave

Pinioned or clipped wings, doesn't matter. Guineas can still flap what they have left hard enough to scale ANY fence they want to get over... until a predator or neighborhood dog is after them, then they are suddenly helpless and easy prey.

Keep in mind that guineas are much more prone to wandering than chickens. If your guineas can get over the fence (and I suspect that they would at least try), they aren't likely to want to hang around in your pasture.

Thanks for the replies. My chickens never try to get out, but I do worry about the guineas. I guess I'll just pinion them and see how it goes. Maybe the Jumbos will be heavy enough that when pinioned they will stay put.
