Yes, and I didn't really like the idea of pinioning either! So I thought I needed to learn about my other options to keep my flock safe at home. But happily, I've learned from Metzger Farms, who I'm getting my babies from, that none of the birds they hatch can fly. So although i dont know how they do that (does anyone know!), it sounds like I'm ok without additional steps.
