Pink eggs???

I am on a quest to get all the different colors I can in my layers... I have olive eggers brown egg layers, and blue/green egg layers but now have seen posts from people that say they have a pink or purplish egg color... So who are you so I can get some eggs or chicks so I can possibly get hens myself that lay that color... Or maybe if you would part with a hen that lays colors like this... My daughters would just die if we could get pinkish or purplish colored eggs from our chickens... Thanks so much...

I am no expert on egg color but I think pink refers to very slightly tinted brown eggs. Of the 3 EE pullets I bought one lays pale olive eggs, another lays pale cream eggs, and the third one crows. Haven't gotten an egg yet from that one

Easter egg dye on the EE rooster? Now there's a thought! Next time he needs an attitude adjustment for flogging a spa day with Easter egg dye might soften him up some. Lot's of coloring potential on a black and white roo!

I am told that purple eggs are actually brown eggs with a "bloom" over them....I want a chicken that does that myself. Marans lay dark brown eggs so they have the potential for laying an egg that looks purple/maroon.

My black jersey Giant lays pink eggs. In her first year, they were very pale. Now that she has molted and is on her second year, they are very striking and have a much deeper/darker shade of pink that which is instantly recognizable under all lighting conditions.

I think barred rocks have a tendency to lay pink-ish eggs. I have a BR that lays pink-ish eggs, and once at a county fair, there was a poultry exhibit, and there was a beautiful Barred rock on display that had laid an very obviously purple (tinted) egg. It wasnt freshly laid (no wet bloom on it), but it was very much in the purple range. It was so pretty, I spent the next 45 minutes trying to find the owner of the bird to try to make an offer to buy it!

So, my experience has been Barred Rocks laying pink and/or purple-ish eggs. Not bright, amazing, neon colors, but enough that you can show people in the sun or in the house, and they can see it too.

I have a BO that lays a very nice VERY pink egg. Also I have one white silkie and she just lays a very light cream color.

The flash really washed out the image, so I apologize for my tan looking pink eggs, but the Jersey's pink eggs are the fourth one from the left to the right, first row. The darker brown eggs are from my PR/RIR pair. The greens, as you have already guessed, are from my snow white EE.
