PINK! They made it PINK! UGH!

Had to make a feed run today, and good grief, my feed room looks like an Easter basket!

I haven't seen the pink Layena bags yet. There was some pale pink horse feed, but that Rabbit Chow bag is LOUD!

Yikes. You just reminded me that I need to go to the feed store. That will be a costly stop. Science Diet dog food (giant bag) cat food (giant bag), game bird feed, manna pro starter (at least a couple sacks). I need a couple more chick feeders, too.

I stopped at the feed store last Friday, and I was heading into the 200 dollars mark. I am in living a sub-division, so it's not like I am feeding horses, and cows. I do wish that I could still feed the llamas though, but that's another story. Of course I got caught when I was trying to sneak in Kitty. I am now owned by a bunny named Kitty. When I was looking in the cage at the feed store he was the only bunny to come when I said (Here kitty kitty). That phrase is my way of telling if somebody really needs to go home with me.

I like the pink bags. i plan on using the three i bought last week to make re-usable bags for grocery bags.
Just cut part of the bag off above the picture so it's not too tall, sew the edge down and sew on two handles made from scrap fabric...TAA DAAA.... instant (almost) carrying bags.

I just picked up my pink bag yesterday.I kind of liked it.What really went over bad in our house is when a red bag slipped into the wash and *pinkified* all the boys underwear. No one sees it,but that didn't matter to the men in this house!

Purina put some of their most popular foods (for horses, dogs, chickens, etc) in pink bags for a short time only in recognition of breast cancer. It is supposed to help bring awarness of breast cancer. Hope that helps with why.

There is a contingent of breast cancer survivors who go ballistic at the mere idea of Pink Events. Too many companies - both large and small - jump on the pink bandwagon, their sales increase, and very little of the money actually gets to pay for research and/or treatment. A whole LOT of the Pink money goes right back into doing Pink Events and other pinkish things, NOT to where it should (according to survivors and/or family members of those who did not survive it) go to fund actual research and treatment.

On the other hand, it does create awareness. *yawn* Anybody not aware, yet?

That being said, look at the cute Little Tike's playhouse I HAD to make into a grow-out coop:

If I had silkies (which will never happen) I would house only them in it. It's so cutesy-wootsy! Luckily the pullets don't care, AND also, luckily, there's some purple to offset all that pink.

There is a company just a bit south of us where you can buy direct workshops, sheds, playhouses, etc. The other day we passed the place and out front they had the most adorable playhouse. I immediately started thinking about how cute of a coop it would make for my silkies - painted purple with pink trim. 'Course then I would have to get more silkies to justify having it.
