I just hatched 9 silkies, 6 or 7 have pink tipped toes. I've done some reading, some say they are splash and the toes may eventually turn darker.
I don't know how good mom and dad genes are. I bought the parents as eggs and hatched them last spring. Also read if the comb of the male is too red, that is not good genetics?
I did hatch some from the same hen before this hatch, I did not get this color with these toes. Mom is black dad is one of my 2 white males. can you get splash from these two colors? Looking for some answers about the toes or what color these may turn out. They are white but look frosted with a grey. I also have a pure white without pink toes. I've hatched whites before but not ones like this.
2nd pic is of the pink toed chick
3rd pic is not pink toed
thanks!
