My Coop
My Coop
Because my coop is not finished yet, the chickens have been having aggression issues- mainly the red sex links. Today my submissive red sex link has a bloody earlobe so I got pinless peepers and put them on one for sure aggressor and another aggressor who has been separated every day (but not night) until now.

A couple other chickens also have been showing aggression and now are pecking pretty hard at the pinless peepers on the two but their nostrils are literally half the size and it looks like the peepers will block their breathing...

This is what the nostrils of the chickens who have the pinless peepers look like:

Nice and wide nostrils...

Here's what the others' look like:

Teeny! :(

They are all pretty much full grown, but only two of the chickens are laying eggs. One of the egg layers has the pinless peepers on and the other egg layer has the teeny nostrils... She is one of the aggressors too.

I have the standard chicken sized peepers...

Mine are yellow though.

Anyway.. help?

Um, some help please? ... :(
One of the aggressors is an Easter Egger, one is a Red Sex Link, same as the two others with the peepers on.

These are the chickens with the pinless peepers.

Teasel

Nettle (still managing to pick on Mallow)

The two with small nostrils.

Olive

Lotus

Compared to Laurel (who probably needs the pinless peepers too) who has big nostrils

Did you ever figure this out? I have the same question about if my bantam hen’s nostrils are too small for pinless peepers.
