Hello!
In reading everyone’s comments here and elsewhere I have decided on painless peepers for my 2 bully hens - I have two who are just outright mean girls…I put them on last night and this AM they are still trying to take them off - is this normal; how long before they go back to “chickening” and stopping trying to get the dang things off?

I haven't used them in more than 3 years, but I believe it was 2 to 3 days they tried to remove them.

I put them on 3 of 5 hens for feather plucking and kept them on for 3 weeks.
They couldn't eat from the feeder. So I used a small pail for feed.

They couldn't drink from the fount, so I put water in a rubber bowl.

My hens tried to get them off for about five minutes. Then they were fine. They ate out of the feeder and drank out of the nipple waterer with no problems. After a few weeks the peepers had no affect on them. When I took them off the chickens just seemed happy that the peepers were gone and finally stopped bullying each other.

Thank you for the input! I set out extra feeders/waterers since mine are gravity fed tubes. 🤞 Hoping this finally solves my problems!
