I noticed a pip in one of my silkie eggs today. It’s the 19th day of incubation. I picked a small amount of shell off to get a better look at things because there wasn’t any movement or chirping. I did notice it looked like a little beak trying to poke through and kind of opening and closing. Also hear chirping from that egg too. Here’s a photo of what it looks like

Your incubator is running a little hot or they started incubating before you put them into the incubator. Hot days...

Im pretty sure I’ve read somewhere that Silkie eggs can tend to hatch on the 19th day (so I’m pretty sure this is normal)

Smaller chickens hatch earlier - silkies are small so this is perfectly normal. If they are all silky eggs I would go into lockdown NOW - lower temp, raise humidity and all that and def leave them alone.

4 of the 12 came from a silkie. The rest of them came from my black leghorn. But I think they were all fertilized by my silkie rooster

I looked at the egg through the little window and the parts that were dark brown are now a pale white color. Is this good?
