pip in the wrong end in a carton, question.... *please respond*

my duck eggs were due like yesterday so i pulled one out to check it and it is pipped in the wrong end. they are all in a carton. would it be better if i took it out of the carton and laid it on its side?

If I see an egg like that, I put it so the pip it up (usually little end up). Then the next day if there is no progress, I start to help out.

thanks! i went ahead and flipped him. i have no idea when he pipped... so should i help 12 hours from now? or less?

I'd just lay it down. I've had a couple pip the wrong end. One was nearly the middle of the egg so I just shoved it sideways (bantam egg in a large carton) and the chick hatched with the egg still in the carton narrow end down. The others I've laid down on the mesh in front of the carton.
