Hi,
This is my first batch of eggs in the incubator. I have chicks hatching right now, and the second one to pip oozed a white ish substance with some brown/red with it. Almost looked like birth matter, rather than blood or yolk sack or anything. Most of the ooze has fallen off, but pip site is now covered over. I can hear cheeps inside, but wondering if I should intervene?? Since the pip is covered over and ooze is beginning to dry up over it??
Is this a sign that something is wrong with the chick?

Thank you for insight!!!

X2, clean up the pip hole and leave it like that. If the chick is o.k. in there it will continue to hatch. Fingers crossed!

The temperature or humidity may be too high. This sounds like what happened when my friend decided to turn up the temp on my homemade bator without telling me and all my babies cooked while desperately trying to hatch early. Really horrible experience. Did not realize till after.
