i have one lone egg im hatching because i tried a cross between a buff orpington rooster and a white leghorn hen my question is i picked the egg up to listen to it(day 20) and its chirping and i can feel it rolling around inside the egg how long does it usually take before it pipps on the outside?

Keep the egg off the turner is your are pass day 18. you are on day 20.

Let the egg stay in the bator Undisturbed so the chick can find the air sac, which it has done because you can hear it peep.

Did you candle your egg at all ?

Look for ANY deformities near the egg shell's air sac.

BE SURE the chick has a hole to get air, sometimes they can be weak enough they can not break the shell completely or the membrane completely.

They do rest a lot when peeping and pipping and zipping.

Let us know what is happening !!
