We have an air breather already

EDIT: Two external pips now!! The second one is the one closer to the camera in that picture. It's a tiny crack that's impossible to get a good picture of, though.

EDIT 2: And a third external pip!! I'm going to try to actually sleep now, but hopefully there will be some healthy peeps out by morning!

Well, it's 2:30 am for me and this is an awful picture, but I just woke up to this baby announcing her own arrival to the world An actual, genuine Blue this time!!

Out under the EcoGlow now because we were climbing over eggs and sitting on pip holes No suffocating your siblings, children!

Editing because I forgot to mention (along with how tired I am ) that there are 5 eggs pipped as well, so more babies on the way!

We had a guy out today to look at it right after I posted that and, would you believe, the AC is fine. Someone flipped the breaker that it's on and forgot to switch it back on. Luckily, the AC guy didn't charge for his time, because that was a pretty stupidly simple fix.

Now it feels too cold in the house because I'm used to it being like 85 F in here.


Those mini-splits sound nice, though! I wonder if it would be worth getting one just for my bedroom, since my room tends to be warmer in the summer and colder in the winter than the rest of the house.

Yes, a small one for a problem area in the house makes sense!

If you go below 18K, you can use 110V instead of 220V

We're up to 6 babies now, three each of Blue and Black now. There are two external pips still, and one internal pip. The last egg sadly appears to have died, but of course I've left it in for the time being just in case. I don't think I mentioned it, but this egg had its air cell at the pointy end, so it was shipped air cell down inadvertently. That it made it this far is kind of a surprise as is!

Anyway, here are our oldest four under the EcoGlow; two blacks on the left and two blues on the right. Lookit their little fuzzy butts!!

We're up to 6 babies now, three each of Blue and Black now. There are two external pips still, and one internal pip. The last egg sadly appears to have died, but of course I've left it in for the time being just in case. Our 9th baby has just emerged after just a tiny bit of help ungluing it's membrane from it. I'm pretty sure the 10th egg died, so 9 babies is probably it! Final tally for colors is 3 Black, 5 Blue, and this baby who I think is also Blue but it's hard to tell for sure until she dries off all the way. No barred babies this time, either, but I'm over the moon about all these Blues!!

I opened the air cell on the last egg, just enough to see, and the little one is confirmed dead. Not sure why, as it was positioned correctly, but it just never broke through the inner membrane into the air cell.

So, 9 babies The last one is a bit matted still from being glued into her egg, so I brushed her gently with a toothbrush to help her fluff out more. She's still getting her legs underneath her, so I left her in the incubator for the time being so she wouldn't get trampled by the rest of them, who are starting to get more active now.

Here are the other 8 in the brooder! In pictures it looks like I got a bunch of Blacks, but in person, it looks like I got a bunch of Blues. Some of them are tricky to tell for sure, but I do think I got more Blues than Blacks based on how they look to the naked eye. We'll see once they start feathering!

This little Blue baby is the one whose foot was by the shell when I candled at day 14 I've been calling her 'Wash' because I also had to wash her egg off a little bit before I set it. I thought it was kind of a cute homage to that.

I'm sure there will be plenty more pictures to come, especially once baby 9 is out and about They are simply too precious!!
