Pipd's Peeps!

I have a special adoration for Flury, I think because she just hates being held and cuddled so much. She's always scowling at me when I do catch her. She makes me laugh, funny girl!

My ducks are definitely enjoying the weather, too, Pattyhen. Trudi has been SO NOISY waiting for the coop to open, such an impatient little critter!

I had to rush on here this morning to post about Gussy. He's actually perked up a bit and is keeping up with the other three better!! He also crowed this morning with the other boys, although he hunched back down after every crow. I hesitate to get my hopes up because I know they can go downhill really fast, but I can't help but be relieved at how much better he looks after just 24 hours of treatment. :fl

My duck loves the rain.one day I had to fill the water and I said,"you lik the rain, ducky duck?" And she quacked back!it was so cute.

Ohhhhh I hope Gus gets better! :fl

Oh my goodness, that sounds adorable! :love Trudi just yells at me like, "I demand you open the door, human slave!" with Malcolm muttering in the background like he's agreeing. And don't even get me started on Crash!

Spiderman and Mary Jane were on the back porch pacing in front of the storm door wanting to come inside. It's raining and they don't like the rain. I toweled them off and sit them on the back of their favorite chair. Thank goodness this chair has a slipcover you can just throw in the washer. They are happily perched on the back of the chair sitting side by side. I think they would be house guineas if I let them they love coming in the house.

Gus is looking pretty bad again this morning, so I brought him in to a clean hospital pen. He seems to be okay in waves today, sometimes perked up and sometimes droopy and lethargic. I fed him with a syringe and got his crop good and full, and he was pecking at what was left of the soaked feed I used in the syringe, so he has some appetite. I'm not liking how thin he feels, though. I'm beginning to wonder if he's coming down with what took Poggy and Rosie from me. :/ Either way, he and the others will stay on Corid for the full dose, just in case. If that doesn't work, I'll be fighting with everything I've got.

I'm sorry to hear he's not doing better. I know you will give him the best care he can get.

Gus is in my prayers for a full recovery.

I'm not sure, to be honest. Better in some respects, worse in others. He seems brighter and he's definitely more talkative today, but a little more sleepy and he's down about 20 grams from yesterday (though that's probably a small enough amount to be negligible). Wednesday is the last dose of Corid, and if there's no change by then, then I need to decide what to do next.

We had a scare today with the girls outside. I thought I saw something fly over the chicken yard through the window, so my brother and I went out to check on them. Everything seemed fine, but then I saw a pile of Roha's feathers down by the cedar tree and about had a heart attack. We started hearing a hawk calling, so my brother started looking around for it while I hunted down Roha and checked her out. Come to find out, she's started molting and is dropping feathers like they're going out of style. Oh, and the hawk calling? It was a blue jay mimicking a hawk. :rant
