Pipd's Peeps!

Pics
Thought I'd pop in tonight and post just a few pictures I took today. School is running me ragged, so I needed some chicken time. :th I had Elly outside working on getting her back into the flock, and I took Crashie out with us to have some outside time. Elly had a blast! Crash hated the entire hour she was out there.

Elly spent the whole time out in the woods foraging.

...With a few breaks for a hug or two. :D

She and Winter have a grudge match going on, so I have to keep a very close eye on him when I take her out. Oh, and she and Roscoe got into a good fight tonight, thankfullywith a fence between them to keep them apart. Most of the girls are either ignoring her or treating her like they did before her crop started having issues, so I think she'll integrate just fine with a bit of patience. :)

Crashie, on the other hand, had a miserable time, and I even had to keep Endymion and Rooska from her because they were trying to chase her! In spite of this, she managed to look cute for the camera.

I filled one of the kiddie pools and let Crash have a swim in it. She seemed content, especially since the girls wouldn't go anywhere near the pool to chase her!

1000

I followed Elly into the woods, and since Crash couldn't see me from the pool, she had to follow and complain about all the walking. Oh, well. This weekend, I'm going to try to get Elly outside full time, or at least during the day. It's been pretty cold at night, and with her molting and having been inside for a couple weeks now, I don't want to rush to put her out and have her get too cold as a result.

Meanwhile, Ihi is in a dreadful molt right now! The cost of beauty, I guess!

And I also grabbed a picture of Lydda and Callette because they are such loves! :love :love They are on top of the hutch that Umru has been in, and that's where they and the rest of the pullets seem to want to sleep every night (except Cazzie, who can't be bothered to fly up any higher than the top of the feed bin, and Izzy, who is perfectly at home among the big girls on the perches). Every night, I have to carry them, one by one, into the coop and to the proper perches. Tonight, Callette was the last one to move, but as I was reaching toward her, she walked right over, snuggled down in the crook of my arm, and looked up at me innocently as if expecting me to just stand there with my arm around her all night. :love I just really love Dorkings.

Lydda on the left, and Callette on the right. Look at these two! :love

...And that's all I got for pictures.

I have two tests and three quizzes AND evil Physics homework due, all in the first three days of next week, on top of getting Elly integrated and my normal weekend chores with the girls, so I guess I'm not going to be active much this weekend. :/ Oh, well. Hopefully that means next weekend will be light on homework!

Hope Goldie is still doing all right. :fl Any updates on her, Pattyhen?

Oh dear!poor ihi!

Awwww!i love the Dorkings!i wish I had some.

:hugs good luck.

Loved the pics of everyone. Crash is so sweet. I think she is a little bit spoiled tho.

I wish I could say Goldie is better but she's not. She's still not walking at all. I'm still giving her the electrolites in her water and I'm going to start giving her gluocosomine to see if that helps her mobility any. I don't like to force them to take a pill but I know I'm going to have too.

Good luck on your tests next week and thanks so much for sharing the pics. I love the dorkings too. I've never seen one in person before but they look so cute with those little short legs. I hope Elly does good when you put her back with the rest of the flock. She looks so much better her color is great and she looks more allert.

Lovely pics as always. Never get sick of seeing pics of the adorable Crashie! <3 Ihi looks like a brown cloud with legs. Haha. And so glad to hear about Elly! Good luck on your tests by the way. I'm sure you'll be fine. I had three exams and a quiz the other week, and I have an exam Monday so I know how you're feeling.

School really kicks butt but sometimes you just gotta kick it back.

Haha, great description for Ihi! All of those pins down her front in that picture are opening up already, so she should be less of a cloud and more of her crazy self again pretty soon. :D

Yes, school is kicking my butt right now. :th I did feel pretty all right coming out of that Physics exam this morning, though, so I guess we'll see on Wednesday when the scores are back. :fl My last day to drop the class without it affecting my GPA is Friday, so that score will decide if I'm staying in for the rest of the semester or not.

Thank you Pip for the gift I was just getting ready to order one.    :D

No prob, hon! I got one free and they told me to pick out someone else to give one to as well, and I thought, Pattyhen loves looking at everyone's chicken pictures, she'd love one! :)

Hope Goldie is hanging in there still! I noticed today that little Cordelia is a little down so I think I'll be giving her and Donna some antibiotics this week. I could hear a bit of a crackle in their chests when I checked them out (I checked Donna just because she's acting fine, so I figured she would be a point of reference for what's up with Cordy--turns out she's got a bit of it, too). Something respiratory is definitely going on with them, and I don't want to take any chances, so they're definitely getting some meds for it. Roscoe's lungs are clear, and so are everyone else's that I checked, so it's just those two having problems. But Elly's doing great at least and should be back outside full time soon--after all this ugliness with classes is out of the way so I can focus a bit more on getting her out there!

I put a perch in Goldies' laundry basket to see if she can perch. That way it would get her off the bottom of the basket a while. She can perch but she can't walk. I tried to exercise her legs but she sure didn't want to lay on her back.

Well I hope your test score was good so you can stay in the class. I'm sure you did well.

I hope you caught the resportory ailment fast. That stuff is pretty scarey.

Thank you again for the calendar you know how I am about looking at chicken pics.

The test came back on Wednesday. So... It was good news. Shockingly good news. Like, the kind of good news that makes you stare in disbelief because it's definitely not possible. I got a whopping 98!! I mean, I worked my butt off, but WOW! Needless to say, I'm staying in the class. :D

This week has been tough. Beside the physics test, there were also three quizzes and a test in another class, so... yeah. Tough. I took it easy this afternoon and took some pictures of the girls. :) Miss Elly is out with the flock now, and tentatively out overnight since it's supposed to be warmer tonight than the past few nights. Hopefully she does well and can stay with the flock! Anyway, on to the important part--pictures!

My babies! :love All of the pullets from Meyer are in this picture, but Endymion is hiding behind the rest of them. Aren't they just adorable?

1000

Cazzie :love Such a big sweetheart!

1000

Rooska decided to sit on my boot. She was particularly lovey today. :love

1000

Cordelia! :love :love :love She's so stinkin' cute, and she's sitting on a basketball, and she's lookin' at me, and I think the cuteness is too much!!

1000

She Who Sleeps Standing Up the Partridge Plymouth Rock, looking fabulous after her molt:

1000

Raven Wyandotte, who is just breathtakingly gorgeous!

1000

Mabel, working the fall colors:

1000

Rooska again, isn't she lovely? :love

1000

My sweet Elly-Welly :love :love She actually came to me and climbed into my lap today. She's been so focused on catching up on all the free-range time she missed that she hasn't come to me for cuddles in a while!

1000

Elly again, being a goof. I'm just surprised this picture was in focus! :D

1000

Winter, second-in-command rooster of the flock. I tried and tried and tried to get a good picture of his daddy, Reuben, but he wasn't cooperating for anything, so I grabbed one of Wint instead.

1000

Eldaaaa! She looks like she's trying to look impressive.

1000

Flury floofy-poofy-floofles! :love She's just so floofy!!

1000

Last one is a close up of Lydda's pretty tail feathers, just because I thought it was neat.

Thats great news you aced the test. I knew you could do it.

The pictures are beautfiul. Everyone looks so fluffy and happy. Glad that Elly is feeling better and back with the flock. Thanks so much for sharing the pics.

Have a nice weekend and enjoy your time off from school.

Endymion squatted today! :ya :weee :celebrate I also noticed her comb looks suddenly bigger (as much bigger as pea combs can look, I suppose)! Looks like Endymion might be the first to lay out of this year's girls!! Can't wait to see what her egg color turns out to be!
