Piping at day23

Just put the other eggs under her & she was fine,I’ve raised Pebbles from 1day old so she sees me as her mummy lol.....,she does have a small ramp going into her house will the babies be ok or should I move them to the other little house which is on the floor?

Just monitor her and the babies closely, some ducks adopt well, some don't... ducks more than chickens bond to the ducklings well before hatch, so that's why they're harder to slip pipping eggs or hatched ducklings under...

I would block her and the babies in for a day or 2, until they're all hatched and on their feet... then make sure they can get back in easy, or move then, if needed...

thank you,she seems to be doing fine at the moment, will what happens if the other Ducklings don’t hatch for a day or two?

I raise all mine with Momma and a Ramp..Feed and water in the House till I let them all out to the bottom..They can climb ramps..
The house isn’t huge but it’s enough for Mum. Hubby will be putting the big house up as soon as babies are here & settled, they do have a big enclosed pen tho with another little house that they can go I. When they venture out of the ramp house.....Mumma Duck always free ranges as I am home, but goes back in at dusk until dawn.....the ramp house door is always open so she wander in & out while in the secure pen....do I need to close that while babies are hatching?

She *should* sit and wait til they're all done hatching, but some don't... just monitor her and if she leaves some still in the nest, put them back into your bator...

I would block her into the house for now... if she goes out before they are ready, could cause issues...

Has she been sitting on fake eggs, to keep her "in the mood" for hatching day? She's more likely to accept if she is already in "mama mode" and anticipating it.
Hi,yes because the 1st lot of fertile eggs I put under her she sat for 2wks & then turned out to be all bad( since found out the lady sold me 3wk old eggs) so I put 6 dummy ones under her until I got another lot of fertile eggs, this time from a friend & 5 our of six are looking great She has now outed the dummy ones but sitting good with others,so the poor little mumma has been sitting nearly 6wks all up.... now just hoping all 5 hatch safely

We have two gorgeous little Ducklings
No’3 is pipping & 4&5 are doing ok so far(I just have to be patient)...Pebbles is a very proud New Mumma & is doing an amazing job considering this is her 1st time.....I on the other hand am a nervous wreck.
