Pipped but not hatching

Hello! I have had 4 fertile eggs in my hatch (my second time, first was a disaster and changed incubator since then). 2 have hatched, one 24 hours ago. There are two left and one has pipped about 12 hours ago but is not hatching. I have a brinsea eco and I am finding it hard to keep the humidity right. With just the central bowl full the humidity is only at 55% (I have a hygrometer in there). So I added a sponge with some water, but it means its fluctuating alot. Not sure what to do to support this chick to hatch? Its definitely alive as I heard it cheeping. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

They will hatch just fine at 55% RH. I've had eggs hatch at 35% RH, but don't recommend that level for hatching...it was a mistake. Personally, I don't go above 70%RH, higher than 70% will cause other problems like 'stuck' chicks, and can cause curled toes due to the fact the chicks take longer to hatch when they are stuck.
Have you salt test calibrated the hygrometer?

What is your independent hygrometer reading versus the bator's sensor?

its doesn't have one its a Brinsea Eco so very basic.

Don’t assist the chick out until it’s been atleast 24 hours since it’s pipped. It takes them a while to absorb the egg yolk and veins

Ok great thanks, we are quite close to 24hours so will see how the next hour or two is.
