Pipped chick almost pecked to death.

So, one of my hens has been sitting on 1 egg for the last 21 days. On our way out to the coop today to separate her from the flock into her own maternity coop, knowing this chick was due to hatch shortly, I found her chick still 99% attached to the shell, cold & still on the ground. I had already given up hope until the baby kicked around when I picked it up. I IMMEDIATELY ran it inside to my already warm incubator & put it in.
My best bet is that my dog has grabbed the egg, probably confused by the smell of blood. The dude won't eat organs to save his life, so he was found hovering over this egg trying to keep the flock off it. Unfortunately baby did sustain some damage from the other flock members. So far I've found some light wounds on its body & some bruising around its beak.
It's currently been about 5-6hrs. Baby is now warm, still breathing & very reactive when touched. However it is still hunched up, eyes still closed. I've pulled most of the egg & sac off of it as most of it was covered in dirt.
Is there anything I can do? Or is this just a case of wait & see if it survives the night?
I thankfully JUST hatched babies inside yesterday so I'm able to still move my hen & give her a baby if this one doesn't make it. I currently have her sated in her nest with a decoy egg.

Typically I'd have moved mum & egg earlier but this has been a hard week, no excuse but it slipped my mind until today. Absolutely beating myself up that I didn't move her sooner.

Sorry about the chick. Hopefully, with a heat source and some time, it will perk up. But it doesn’t look very promising. Let us know if the chick makes it.

thank you ❤️. It's definitely looking that way, but I will remain hopeful that it can at least get through tonight. I'll update how the chick goes

Fortunately you don't need to worry about it eating or drinking for a couple of days. It doesn't look good but you never know. Keeping it warm and comfortable it might have a chance. :(

Thank you ❤️ I've had chicks come back from things I didn't think they would - but I've never experienced this. I would have thought he'd at least be a little more alert if he was to survive... I'll update in the morning, hopefully with good news 🤞

So far so good... this little baby is a fighter, for sure. If it comes completely good I will move it out with mum. But not doing so until I'm confident. Just very happy it has made progress!

Mama & baby are in their own little maternity coop. Baby perked up so much in the past 12hrs. Still nervous - but mama hen is very smitten. I originally came out to my broody hen sitting "on" my 13 week old pullet, so was nervous she wouldn't take to the chick. Will keep a close eye, but very thankful.

So happy that she has bonded with the chick, and that it is strong. Eventually, you may want to let them join the flock as the chick heals, but watch carefully that she is protecting that chick. Give us an update later on.

Thank you! Definitely, the plan is to let baby get stronger. Unfortunately we have some right bullies in our flock that don't like smaller chickens, so typically I take mum & babies out & then reintroduce once the chicks are at least a few weeks. Mama hen is visible to the flock so they usually re-accept very easily 😊
