One of my Ameraucana eggs has pipped approx 2/3'd of the way down the egg this morning at 6am. It is still alive and not making any progress. I know it can take 24 hrs from pip to zip, but if this chick is malpositioned is it more likely to require assistance???? dak [IMG]

I had two chicks hatch from the bottom last night. One of course, didn't make it because it was hand hatched, but the other got out just fine, on its own. I think as long as it has pipped there, it should be fine. I would leave it for a while, my one chick took a good 30 hours from pip to hatch.
