Pipped on wrong end :(

I may be wrong but I carefully break the membrane to let oxygen in. Since the small end doesn’t have the pocket of air that the big does.
That air, from my understanding, is for the chick to transition to oxygen and rest to built up strength for piping.
I didn’t remove any shell, just carefully opened membrane. Put some antibiotic first and sterilize your tweezer.
If this is bad information, anyone, please advise so.

Well, in my case the chick was able to make a pip all the way through (though it was very small) and was getting air the whole time so there was no need to interfere until the very end when it became apparent the chick was not able to progress any further without a little more wiggle room... not sure what I'd have done if there was no pip at all :hmm
