Thanks, I gave her a little. I can tell her neck and head seems stronger. She is able to eat a little and drink but she is still scooting around. Still waiting for those wobbly 1st steps.

Whisper is a lot more active this evening than she was this morning. She was even up for a photo!
Here is me holding 16 day old Pipper and <1 day old Whisper.

Look at that size difference in just 16 days...WOW...what are you feeding Pipper.

Im sure they will be great friends and glad for each others company. So glad to hear Whisper is doing better.

Awwwwwww, so sweet.

It doesn't take long for the little cutiies to grow. I've only one gosling, and she is HUGE! I tell the hubby you can see how much she has grown, just over night.

I have been feeding them flock raiser and I throw some grass and clover on top for some greens. At dinner time I bring Pipper in the kitchen (I have 3 year old twins and they think its a hoot... or honk?) and I fix some kale and leafy greens for Pipper. The kids also love to feed her. Kale is like candy to a goose so Pipper really loves dinner time.

Yes, its amazing what 16 days can look like when you get a visual like that.

And as for little Whisper, she is walking and standing now and getting stronger and just making progress in general... still a little clumsy. We snuggled together while I watched a movie last night. She kept trying to press further and further under my arm/wing. I think its important for a gosling to get some good snuggle time. Besides the bonding and warmth it provides good leg exercise!

On a sadder note, there was one more egg due and it was also seeming to have problems like whisper (moving but making no progress) so I planned another assisted hatch but wanted to wait until the kids were in bed. It was moving at dinner time and then when I went to crack it open, the blood was still fresh but the baby was still. I guess I only missed her by a couple of hours. But thats how it happens sometimes.

I started mine on spinach not knowing that it's really not that good for them, now they stick their beaks up at Kale, but I'm still giving it, esp. since I have soo much!! jennifer
