This chick pipped way far away from my last air cell marking and it has just a touch of dried blood on it.

Any hope for this fluffy butt?

A malpositioned little bugger. The blood is from a vein he hit. The bottom of the egg is more heavy with veining at the time of pip than the top. He has good chances. Sometimes malpositioned chicks hatch perfectly fine on their own, others the only way they are going to make it out is with help. Malpositioned eggs are expected to take longer to progress than a normally positioned chick. Unless something doesn't seem right and your gut tells you different- give them 24 hours to make progress before stepping into assist if you decide you want to help. The blood vessels/veining needs time to shut down.

Yes, i have 2 other pups, in the right places! I candeled the malpositioned one and its kicking aroung like crazy. I will give it plenty of time. They aren't due to hatch until late tomorrow.
