Talking about seeing our chickens lay eggs.....I saw one of mine Beignet lay one yesterday!

Forgot to tell you guys. We have 3 rats in our garden (I think a momma and 2 kids) who sometimes hide under the coop (but mostly hide out somewhere else). Yesterday I watched the biggest rat eat some of the chickens treats in the evening

(A bit of context here, in the evening, the chickens are put in their run extension and they all sit amd rest together in the entrance of the run. I love to see them all happy together, no noise, no pecking)

So the chickens saw the rat eat some of their treats off their plate which was in the extension. And Wanda and Vision surrounded it. Another rat ran into the run which Vision chased after, whilst Wanda was staring at the big rat (almost the size of Noodles!). She puffed up, and chased it off.

Wanda has been promoted to Chief Protector of the flock, and Vision is Secondary Protector.


Tbh I'm not that worried about the rats with the chickens. If they enter the coop, they will meet the wrath of angry broody Dalma. Even I'm scared of her.

1. Tries to open the door and enter with chickens attempting to get out.
2. Chickens follow me around
3. I get treats.

It's the bottom of a waterer. Connected to a water butt. It doesn't auto fill, though
