pips and zip and LOTS of pics... Lockdown.......Hatch date 8/28

Sizzle # 2 -Popped out like popcorn---He was annoyed I turned the flashlight on him. VERY NOISY. I like a chick with attitude.

Edit: He has funny toes. I know a silkie will have an extra, but the outside one is curled under (like if your hand made the #4. Making booties.

Congrats on the new one Laree.

I moved mine over to my LG for the last 3 days and I checked the temp this A.M. and it was 103.5. Just great. I guess I will see what happens on Friday night.

Congratulations Hbuehler and Laree!!!

Laree...sometimes when chicks are born with curled toes, people make a little "shoe" to help them straighten out. You can wait a day or so to see if it fixes itself, and if not, cut a little piece of cardboard the size of her foot and tape it to the bottom of her foot with the toe flattened out on it.

My little girl(see I'm hopeful here) has dried some a little EE with 5 toes on one foot and feathered legs-not heavy like our little Cochin but feathers all the way down.Guess we have a keeper here

TXmom-

Yeah, I made booties outta sports tape. I think this will be the second chicken we have named out of 17 (they are all still chicks, no one is crowing yet:)).

I think I'll name him "Ducky" or "Spats".

Suggestions?

One egg left for this batch. I thought I saw it rock yesterday, but still nothing.
