Pitch black eggs when candling?!

Im thinking that if they have all suffered (?) sorry, I don't mean that, but you know, it's a first try and thats ok. you'll do better. If they have all herm, been treated the same its probably going to be a similar story for the last egg. but there is no reason to give up so just keep at it till you lose interest. let your eyes adjust to the darkness by sitting in the dark for 5 solid minutes and then candle the egg. I use a bright LED torch or a phone, and I use one hand to make a cone for the egg at one end, light at the other. you have now got experience at it and can add to that experience. go for a thermostat or a hen to incubate, and you'll do fine.

place your finger around the base of that egg, so you cannot see the phones light, and do the picture over again

It doesn’t look like it does. What do you use?

I use a high powered flashlight. So does it plug into the wall? If not, then it runs on batteries, and if the batteries are dying, then the light will get weaker too, and make it so it's much harder to see into the egg.

yes, for people who read this later, you want to block out all light from the torch using your fingers, so that the only light you see is light that is coming out of the egg. you dont want to see the light from your phone or torch, block it out completely.

Gotcha, I’ll try to see if I have a bright flashlight

dfg.jpeg wrap your finger around the base off the egg just here sweetie, to block the light. then do over., so i can't see the light from the torch,
