Place Where The 4-H People Hang out Out

First look up the Canyon county, Idaho Cooperative Extension Service which you can find here:

http://www.uidaho.edu/extension/canyon

Specifically you are looking for their 4-H office which is here:

http://www.uidaho.edu/extension/canyon/4hyouthprograms

I'd give them a call and ask about the various 4-H clubs in your area or you can look at the list on their site. I'd talk to them though because often times lists are not up to date.

I'd also look at the list of projects that are available in your area which they have a list of here: http://www.uidaho.edu/extension/canyon/4hcontent/4-hprojects

If none of those do it for your kids then you might look at the national curriculum that you can find here: http://www.4-h.org/resource-library/curriculum/

If that isn't enough then come on back and we'll see what we can do for you.

Yay, 4-H!

I'm not actually in it anymore, last year was my final year

, but I'm an adult leader this year. I absolutely love 4-H and how much it teaches kids.

Wow.. thanks so much! We just got into chickens and dont have room for "livestock" but I know there are so many options. I really appreciate you listing all this information for me. I had talked to the lady in our chapter back int he fall but our housing situation was in limbo. This year we are much more stable so I want to get into it.

There is a lot more to 4-H than just agricultural and home economics these days. My daughter is about to give a robotics demonstration at our district competition at the university this coming weekend and for our projects day we put together an aerospace demonstration. If you don't have room or situations for animals there is so much more that can be done. Look at the national curriculum site I linked above and you'll see.

What exactly is 4-H? I've heard of it, sounds fun and a great way to teach agriculture, though exactly what is it?
