Placement of coop: sun vs. shade!?

I'm just north of Houston. I'm sure this is a stupid question but the frozen water bottles are just like the waterers but frozen?

You can just take a used plastic water, soda, juice bottle and fill it water and freeze. I have 6 bottles that I rotate out as the melt I replace them with a frozen one and refreeze. The 2 liter soda bottle work really well for this or you can just use the smaller 20 oz bottles.
