My duck is sitting on infertile eggs, and I was wondering what would happen if I placed ducklings under her at around day 30. Has anyone done this before?

Thats a great question

I'm desperate to know, because I would need to order the ducklings now to get them here in time! And I have brooded too many things to want to do that anymore. If the chances are slim, I won't order them at all.

I would trade the infertile with fertile eggs.

Too late. I bought a dozen "fertile" eggs and put them under her. She's rolled out 8 of the 12 over the last 2 weeks. I candled the remainder, and they are not fertile. She's been sitting too long at this point.

rainplace, I have been thinking about you often lately!

How are you and the flock?

Amiga! You always make me feel so good when I come back :)

My life has changed, once again, tremendously since the last time I posted. I sold my entire flock (100+ chickens, 60+ ducks, 15 geese) for $1, to someone who did not appreciate the deal they got. I'm down to one lone duck and two geese. I have however added a few dairy goats, and a couple of pigs. I should maybe do another "Ducks changed my life" posts.

After I made this post I stalked your profile. You are a very special person, Amiga.

I'm sure this topic has come up before, would you be able to point me in the direction of another thread where my question has been answered?
