Plank Challenge anyone????

Front plank 30 sec (went from wrists to elbows, but shoulder still didn't like it)
R Side 35 sec
L Side 42 sec

I was hoping your shoulder would get better about it. Maybe if you went to an easier like on a sofa or chair plank instead of all the way horizontal

Its not bad, but I cant have it get worse....I'm supposed to do my bi-annual physical fitness test in a couple of weeks with a swim and pushups that I will need the shoulder for. May look at modifying that one corner though with something so I can still get the abs and core work.

Yesterday was day 1 for me.

plank level 1 - 50 seconds

side plank level 1 - 40 seconds
both sides

reverse plank level 1 - 30 seconds.

How many times a day should one do these plank exercises? I think I need to build some muscle strength. It's odd that I can carry a fifth pound sack of feed without difficulty, but I can't hold myself up (with good form) for more than half a minute.

Once a day is a minimum, but I'd say whenever you can fit it in won't hurt!, especially w/o any health issues to worry about. Since starting I've done it multiple times some days, but my evening one is the one I count, I don't even time the other times. (don't do it multiple times every day yet though)
 
I repeated yesterday's times. My arms are a little sore, and my stomach feels tight. I think those are good signs. I will try once more before going to bed. I read somewhere that exercise before sleep can aid in weight loss. Does anyone know if this is true?

Oops sorry! I was laughing at you falling over....only because I've done that - and I think its funny that falling over might be a problem in an exercise routine!
Only to those who haven't tried yoga!!!!!! Falling over during exercise is normal for yoga poses, lol
