I do want to experiment with making one. I was talking about real wool...as in real wool....lol...our neighbor has sheep, and also the fair is going on now so we can probably get some from there...but I'd have to look at it to see if it would work out ok.
Also a tip from me...for our last batch of chicks, I made them microwave heat bags using rice or beans and filled up an old sock. So they had their own warm "bean bag" chairs. They loved those things and sat on them all the time. No real worries about contaminating the microwave but you can always put the sock on a paper towel in the microwave so that the oven stays clean. I microwaved them for about 30 seconds, flip, then an additional 15 seconds or so. Stayed very warm but not hot.
