Plantar warts! Dang it!

yup I had them too....painful.....my son had so many on the bottom of his feet they had to do surgery.....mine I dug them out and they went away....painfull.....there is a cream you get from the dermatologist that treats genital warts that also works on plantar warts and skin cancer it is called aldara cream......

I worked with a doc that prescribed the duct tape treatment. I used it on my son, in conjunction with some olive leaf extract/bag balm oint, and it took about a week and a half to be gone. Peeled off and looked like it had never been there in the first place!

My other son had one, went barefoot one day on gravels, cut his foot right on that wart. It peeled off the next day and never came back!

You are right!

My mom and a couple of my sisters had them. ICK!

none of the men in the family ever got them.... go figure.

I had warts on my fingers when I was younger (not sure what they call those) my mom took me to a dermatologist & he cut them off then cauterized the spot.Within a month they came back.

My mom knew an old man that could conjure warts. She took me to him.Only thing I remember was he had on a black dress jacket & he kept sticking his hand in his pocket. He'd then rub my wart & mumble something. He did this to each of my warts & then told me to forget about them. And thats what I did.

About a month later I just happen to notice that my warts were gone.Dont know how I got them in the first place, mom said it was from playing with frogs.

I second that opinion. My podiatrist(yep I had a plantar wart, too) told me that if I didn't mind waiting it out, that duct tape will work. OR, while I was in his office he would cut it out. The secret is keeping the duct tape intact on the skin continually until it's gone. You can't just put it on for a few days then take it off, then put it back on, etc.

You can take cimetidine along with the duct tape. Do a google search. It is an over the counter antacid.

If they aren't getting better soon, head for a doctor. I let them go the first time I had them 20 years ago & I had like 100 little one that all had to be cut out. I got them again a few years back & went right to a podiatrist. He used a laser to get them out.

It all hurts like heck, but if you don't take care of it fast, it gets out of hand. Good luck!!

I suggest heading for the doctor in at least a month if you can't get rid of the wart on your own. Warts will spread quickly if you let them get out of hand.

ouch...they are called verrucas here in the UK..we use Bazuka that Varruka...works fab...have even used on the my ducks when the had calluses...and yep it works on ducks as well!
