Planting A Chicken Garden

I've got wheat growing along with other tall wavy grasses. Not that the chickens let them get tall and wavy. Corn. Tomatoes and lettuce. Peas. They go nuts for peas!! Looking into getting blueberry/rasberry/otherberry bushes this fall.

I give them purslane. It is an invasive weed so be warned! However, I think it's awesome. It grows everywhere in sunny dry conditions. It doesn't need care and is high in nutrients. You can also eat it! It has a yummy lemony taste.

My red sexlinks committed chicken suicide. They flew over the fence and ate morning glory seeds from the dead vines I pulled. They died in less than 24 hours.
Be careful what you plant, especially if your girls are family pets!
