No way to rotate. I will plant the grass outside the run and harvest by hand. Maybe I can find a cheap lawn mower on Craigslist

You can look for a manual push mower, those are cheaper. See if you have a yard sale type of facebook group for your neighborhood. We have one and people post both to get rid of things, and to look for things others need gone. I posted on ours looking for a push mower, and some lady was looking to get rid of hers, so she just gave it to me for like $10. Some stuff is even free. Those groups are great for cheap/free stuff, both finding and getting rid of things you no longer need. Like Craigslist, but in your neighborhood, and more convenient to use.Maybe I can find a cheap lawn mower on Craigslist

Another great idea, thanks! Grass seed in trays can't be too difficult, I might even be able to grow it indoors as fodder over the winter. If you plant the seeds in trays you can just dump the entire try of seedlings in with the chickens, a 50 pound sack of wheat feed is usually < $10 and lasts a long time. Plus you get more bang for your buck as the seeds grow up a few inches for free.
