The same as I said above. Test your soil and fertilize and lime properly for what you are going to grow. Red clover grows tall like hay and white clover spreads like a ground cover. I'd plant an improved variety of red clover along with appropriate pasture grasses for your area. Oats or annual ryegrass in the mix will be fast germinating and become a "nurse" crop for slower germinating varieties.
