I planted 7 top turnips. They LOVE the tops. But cover them until they are big enough to tolerate the pecking. I cut the ones on the far side and gave them those. Its cheap seed and returns until after hard freezes then just sort of sets there. Do not use nitrogen of any kind on the crops for hens. Sometimes the greens will have too much nitrogen and hurt the hens. Clover is like that too. Jean
