Plants for duck run (cotoneaster, daylily, currants)

I've got ducks out right now in my berry patch. They will be OK in there until the grass and dandelions are gone. But they must be removed any time I water the plants or they will drill around the roots and do damage.

They are in my orchard during the day, but each tree has a tree ring to prevent nibbling and drilling. They will stand under the peach trees and jump as high as they can to eat the leaves. So I will have to watch them close when the blueberries leaf out to make sure they aren't pulling leaves off of blueberries.
 
I think your best bet is to plant something pretty outside the run. Maybe a climbing vine that will grow up and over to provide shade.
