plastic nesting boxes

That's what I use, too. Perfect size, sqared bottom, so they don't roll like the 5gal buckets and the chickens prefer them over the 5 gal. AND when one of my many Silkies goes broody, I can pick them up nest and all and deposit them elsewhere!

I've seen them at the zoo and they are perfect for bantams like OEGBs but for LF, you better off getting something else bigger.

I use shoe boxes. I just cut the lid off and wrap the heck out of it with boxing tape. My girl loves hers.

I saw on Pinterest a great idea for plastic nesting boxes. Those stackable storage containers! The plastic bins have a lower end front so you can reach in and get potatoes or onions. For the hens, Yyou can put your straw in it and when you want to clean it, pull out, dump straw in compost pile, rinse and put in new straw.

Unfortunately, I cannot find any right now - Lowes, HD, Walmart, Target, etc, etc. I figured I need one about 11" wide x 11" deep and 6" high. I found this one http://monsterbins.com/30235-4948
Here are some on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/United-Soluti...721443&sr=1-1&keywords=stackable+storage+bins

Does anyone know where I can get these in the right size for $3-4 ea?
