I am currently on day 18 with my incubation and i just realized i didnt know what to do with the plastic red vent plugs? When do i take them out? Do i need to take them out? What is the purpose of them? How many do i take out?

Thank you

Do you have a humidity moniter in the incubator? I usually keep them closed until all the chicks hatch. Then I remove them. Or if the humidity starts to jump when they start hatching and gets too high, I'll pull one plug out.

I forgot to mention that my incubator is an LG. No i dont have a humidity moniter. I did fill all the troughs with water though.

Hi!
My Little Giants have/had 2 red plugs on the top. I pulled them out right off and I've never closed any of those vent holes during incubation or hatching.
When / if you remove them, your temperature and humidity may drop, and need to be readjusted.
Good Luck!

Ahhhh! Im confused! Some say to leave some say to take out. I dont know what i should do....

Maybe just remove one?

Ok maybe it would help me if i could find out the exact purpose of the vent plugs? Is it to let out excess humidity?
