Going to put the nesting boxes below the roost area, ;the cut out on the sides is the overhang of the roost area. Nesting boxes below are 12x13x13 30x30x33cm. Entire structure will be elevated 18" 45cm off of floor secured into studs in a corner and supported with legs. There will be some kind of perch in front of the nesting boxes. The way into the roost area will be via a drop door on the left side with a ramp along the wall, and a large hinged horizontal door for us to clean out and up.
I know there are snacks under there!!
Not quite sure what you mean by the 'roost area'.Going to put the nesting boxes below the roost area,
Our girls sleep in an elevated box closed at night. We are in the mountains and night is not safe .Not quite sure what you mean by the 'roost area'.
The coop building isn't safe? Our girls sleep in an elevated box closed at night. We are in the mountains and night is not safe .
Not really.Maybe this is clearer?
We have bears, cougar, fox, bobcat, coyotes, martens, snakes, roaming packs of hunting dogs, and feral cats. We got the girls used to sleeping in the box and it works. So we decided to continue it.The coop building isn't safe?
Not really.
Well, OK....just thought the new building would be predator proof. We have bears, cougar, fox, bobcat, coyotes, martens, snakes, roaming packs of hunting dogs, and feral cats. We got the girls used to sleeping in the box and it works. So we decided to continue it.
