Authenticating my newness; I suppose these classifications are an indicator of membership. However I have been unable to find out the direct relationship to said statements. Are they indicative of length of time or how active you are in the forum. Is there a page which defines this and other things which I should know?
From the new egg in the nest !;)))

Welcome to BYG

This link is from our Learning Center which is a super place to get info and find out more about the forum and chicken related matters:

Glad you joined our flock.

Welcome to BYC!

The BackyardChickens Forum FAQ has a lot of links to answer questions regarding membership:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/204/backyardchickens-forum-faq#post_1198

For example, when you take a look at the link on user titles you'll see that your title will change from New Egg to Just Hatched when you have 25 posts.

Lots of helpful information on that link, hope it helps!

The Golden Feather & Platinum Feather are paid upgrades to your membership. In exchange you get extra pages for your profile for photos of your flock , your coop and run, maybe a background on your farm etc. You can shut off advertising, and some other good things.

You do NOT need to have any upgrade to be a member of BYC.

The New egg, etc. titles just reflect how many posts you have made since you joined.

Take a clear photo of each of the birds you are wondering about and then post them with your question over on the breed/gender forum. This link will take you there (read the picture guidelines first):

Good luck to you!
