I call the Silver Carmel birds Pearls.

The light Silver almost white is considered Platinum.

So is the bird in this pic the pearl, or the platinum? I have one just like it and I've been trying to work out what she is.

You can purchase them online. I got a mixed bunch of eggs from a friend and have a couple of silvers in there. I love surprise eggs (I have one that's a light silvery yellow but has faint gray striping where an italian chick would have the black stripes - can't wait to see how that one feathers out) I have a male that is a silver over brown I think? He's my favorite rooster. I love his feathers up close. His females are a tibetan tuxedo, a cinnamon tuxedo and a dark tuxedo.

Thank you for posting this, I didn't see it before - I've got a tuxedo hen with this colouaration and I've been going crazy trying to ID the colour. I know there are browns and silvers in the breeding flock she came from so that makes sense!

Just a FYI, I'm in Hawaii and I think my bird is a blue/silver. Here's a pic. I didn't realize they were that rare.

Will be interesting to see what kind of offspring she has.
