I have 1 pair of Platinum Sumatras, a cockerel and a pullet.
These birds are the offspring of my Dun breeding program.
Platinum birds are the result of the genetic combination of both the Blue gene and the Dun gene. The result is a steely gray colored bird with chocolate hued highlights. The birds pictured below are the actual birds you will receive.
When bred together these birds will produce Platinum, Dun, Blue, Black, Splash and Khaki colored offspring - a veritable rainbow of chicken colors from just 2 parents!
Sumatras outside of Black and Blue are very rare, good examples of Blue and Black are hard enough to find. These birds are the product of crossing my initial Platinum roo with show quality Black Sumatra hens. These juveniles already are looking better than the previous generation and I have high hopes for the rest of the flock. This is a very rare opportunity to begin working with some of the hardest to find colors out there in this breed.
I am asking $80, OBO, for the pair.
No reasonable offer will be denied. I am looking to rehome these birds to a fellow fancier who is interested in working with and establishing quality lines of these newer colors.
You will also be responsible for the cost of shipping and the price of the box which they will be shipped in. I will provide fruit and/or grow gel to keep them hydrated during shipment. Shipping will also depend on the current weather where you are located. I will not ship these birds if it is so hot that it becomes unsafe. For a shipping quote please PM me your zip code.
