Playground for chickens?

Cool, tomorrow I will put a stick in a corner for now where the shade is. I think that should be fun for them until I can get something else going. I've been tempted for a while to do that. Thanks! Now to research salad bars for chickens

For the birds that don't free range I will also toss in a nice leafy flake of alfalfa. They love the alfalfa leaves...

I use the old flats that flowers come on for my chicken salad bar in the run. I just fill the long flats with soil and put seed on and let it grow until it reaches a good size. The chickens love it when I head to their run with one of the flats. I leave it until they are long longer interested in it and then take it out and replant it. The one time I used a pot didn't work so well because they emptied the pot of soil to eat the roots of the plants. The plants and gotten a little root bound in the pot.
