I am wondering if those square, somewhat thick rubber-like (maybe recycled materials?) mats often used for playgrounds or around home swing sets would work in my duck enclosure. Easy clean up and would reduce the mud/muck but I don't know if they are textured enough to not be too slick when wet and cause problems. Has anyone tried them?

Well, I put "pond rocks/pebbles " round, easy to hose if you don't put too much pressure o in my aviary apartments.. And I have conveyer belting, horse mats type in my goose houses, that said, I found some of those rubber mats with holes in them for garages or restaurants (sams or costco ro HD) have them. and I put one of them over the other mats as it catches the poo in the holes and they don't get as messy on their bodies> hose them every other day. In winter I plan to put straw in there.

Ollievee, I've been thinking about doing this too. I've seen quite rough 'playground' flooring. Was thinking of putting this down as a base and then putting straw down in some areas over the top. My babies came to be with bumblefoot and my vet thinks this flooring might help relieve some pressure on their feet. I'm also thinking it would be really easy to disinfect. I tried stones but they just seemed to trap poop under them, even with a good hosing.
