Playing with frogs. :)

Yes, I agree they have the most gorgeous eyes. I love watching these eat. All I have to do it turn on the outside light and they have a huge feast come up. It is amazing how mucch the little guys can put away! But they poop on my windows so I am always having to clean it off......looks like little mini dog poopies.

We love frogs here also. I always turn the porch lights on at night to attract the bugs for them. My boy loves to watch them eat.
One day he found two gray tree frogs and placed them on the window. It was cute so I took some pics. Then he comes running in the house screaming. He kept saying his eyes hurt and burned. The skin around his eyes got red and his eyes hurt him real bad. He cried for about 20 minutes. If you watch any animal shows you know that frogs have "poison" in their skin glands. I guess he got some in his eyes. Know that its over, its funny. He does not like frogs anymore. He's OK now.

Thanks, ticks...I think they are pretty. I love mosst things considered creepy crawly....though I can't imagine how anyone could think a frog was creepy.

That is actually 2 different frogs......the one in the first pic wasn't quite as friendly as the one in the second two pics.

OH MY, I knew they had a poison of some sort in their skin but I didn't know it could do something like that!! I kinda figured you had to suck on them or something....glad I am a handwashing fanatic!!!

like your pics, we have a small one that shows up at night and climbs into the water bowl, it's gone in the morning but always shows up at night.

I especially love tree frogs, those are the most interesting ones. One time I raised to from eggs. One had 3 legs and the other was healthy. I just love how amphibians grow.

I almost hate to admit this, but it really is soooooooo cool. I always keep an 8' around little kiddie pool on the deck during the summer. One night a few of the frogs decided to lay eggs in the pool. So, over the course of the few days I spent trying to figure out what to do with the eggs.....THEY HATCHED!!!!! So, the kids are no longer allowed to use the kiddie pool....can't very well clean the water, and we are watching them grow. They are sooooo cute!!!!! Those things grow FAST!!! You can literally see them getting bigger every day!!

Awwww! They are so cute! We only have a few frogs, but we have TONS of toads. They all have names.

Every morning I go outside and check our pool and make sure no toads have jumped in. Usually there are about 2-3 frogs swimming around. I get them and let them go where all the toads go during the day.

My class had a 50 gall. aquarium donated a couple of years ago and we had severe rain and flooding in our area. The playground was literally covered in frog eggs so we picked up several bunches to see if we could hatch them. We ended up with 438 little frog,,, that was out of thousands of tadpoles that formed. I love the little suckers but boy was that a challenge trying to feed them and find them places to live. Most went to live on the mountain at a stock tank.
I have a lot of them living around here and they are getting big now and have grandchildren!
